I received my new machine this past Monday and I have not had the energy/courage to do much more than set it up on the table and read the manual. I must confess that because it is computerized I was a little intimidated! This week there have been a few times that I just sat in front of it and stared! I actually worried that I had stepped out of the small boundary that encompasses my sewing skill.
Well let me tell you something, it is an AMAZING machine! The bobbin threaded so easily, the upper thread was simple, and the pièce de résistance is that I don't have to use the foot peddle! You heard correctly!!! I can sew with the touch of a button!!!!!!!!
Oh wait! Did I forget to tell you that my new machine has what is called an automatic needle-threader?? I know, right?!?!? All you have to do is follow the arrows on the machine, press the lever, tug on the thread and release the lever. This actually pulls the thread through the eye of the needle!
I am in LOVE :) Off to sew now, wish me luck!

Congrats! I don't think I'd know what to do with something so advanced. I'm sure you'll have a blast with it over the summer. I picked up my first machine at a consignment store early last year and have had a blast with it. I don't have time for much more than infrequent projects for the kids, but I am hoping to take some classes this summer and hopefully advance my self-taught skills. Maybe I'll eventually feel comfortable with stepping out like you with that awesome set-up.
I will send you my list of things you can sew for me. I have some curtains I would love turned into a dress.
